Adult access status note / October 16, 2026

Bill 208 Still Has No Public Next Date

AACV says the latest committee status should push Alberta toward public evidence, not quiet momentum.

The current status is clear

the Economic Future committee page was updated October 16 and says there are no currently scheduled meetings. The same page still identifies Bill 208 as referred to the committee on April 20, 2026, and says written submissions closed August 17.

AACV reads that as a work period

  • Publish submission themes.
  • State what evidence is missing.
  • Separate lawful adult access from youth-source concerns.
  • Explain whether amendments are still live.

Why the existing rulebook matters

Alberta rules and enforcement already lists 18+ age rules, ID expectations, display and advertising restrictions, fines, and enforcement-team duties. Before adult access is narrowed further, Alberta should show what those tools are finding.
