Bill 208 Needs a Public Evidence Page Before Fall Debate
AACV asks Alberta to publish one plain evidence page before any fall decision on adult vaping access.
A narrow ask for the fall
Bill 208 is now past the public submission window shown on the Economic Future committee page. Before the file returns to the Assembly, Alberta should publish one public evidence page that separates lawful adult retail from youth access and illegal supply.
What should be on the page
- Retailer inspection totals by region and outlet type.
- Complaint counts with response timelines.
- Youth source-of-access categories separated from licensed retail.
- A summary of what Bill 208 does not measure on its own.
Why this is fair to adults
Alberta already has an 18+ framework with photo ID expectations and retailer penalties, according to Alberta rules and enforcement. Adults should not lose lawful access because the province failed to publish where the problem is actually coming from.
